Texas Flying Legends and Dakota Territory Air Museum (Minot, ND) Fly-In
 
Location: 
Rapid City Regional Airport (RAP), SD
 
Details: 

Hemlock Films is going to be filming the "tour." The tour will start in Houston, TX, make a stop at the USAF Academy Graduation, then proceed to Rapid City. The tour will arrive at Rapid City on the 29that about 1600 hours , and depart for filming over the Black Hills on the 30th at 0500 hours. There will be a dozen pilots and another 6 or so film and support personnel. A gathering for viewing the aircraft and greeting the pilots on the 29th at the airport, followed by a reception with Dakota area veterans.
Planes on the tour include Corsair, P-51 Mustangs (2) - Little Horse and Dakota Kid, Japanese Zero (Last Samurai - one of only a few flying Japanese Zeros), P-40 Warhawk, B-25J Mitchell Bomber (Betty's Dream - the aircraft that the 34th and 37th Bomb Sq at Ellsworth used to fly, and was used in the Doolittle Raid on Tokyo), Wildcat (FM-2P), and TBM Avenger (the plane President George Bush flew in the Pacific Campaign). This tour is a rare and unique combination of aircraft with substantial ties to American history.
